Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if I am feeling unwell?

Please inform your therapist as soon as possible by texting or calling them, we can not risk exposure to your therapist, other clients, their families and other building occupants.

If you experience either of these symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, chills, fever with chills or simply are feeling “off” please reschedule your appointment and check in with your Primary Care Physician.

It is of utmost importance that we all are healthy when seeing each other. The same goes for our therapists.

What should I do if I or one of my close contacts or family members is diagnosed with Covid19?

Please do not come in for an appointment until you have been tested with a negative result or 14 days since exposure has passed. It is imperative that we contain Covid19. If you have an upcoming appointment please inform your doctor and therapist of your exposure.

What are some of the dangers of asymptomatic, pre and paucisymptomatic Covid19 infections and massage?

From what we have learned from scientist, Covid19 can have a direct impact on the blood vessels, causing blot clots in them. It is very important for you to be informed about the dangers of blood clots leading to stroke, pulmonary embolism and heart attack. Covid19 can have lasting damaging effects on your lungs, heart, kidneys and other organs.

Covid19 is a serious virus and we all need to work together to prevent its’ spread by being transparent about the dangers and protecting each other, staying home when we are feeling unwell until we know if we are carriers. Properly wearing masks covering our mouth and nose is of utmost importance, hand hygiene and social distancing are very important as well.

Do I have to wear a mask?

Yes. We all have to wear a mask while in the building-this includes clients on the table- face-down and face-up. Please make sure your mask is covering your mouth and nose at all times.

What are your sanitizing/cleaning procedures?

We are following the strict State of MA and industry guidelines. We will be using Virox (activated Hydrogen Peroxide cleaner EPA certified disinfectant cleaner) on all surfaces including table, arm rest, face rest and all other surfaces after each of our clients. This includes the doorknobs, chairs, tables, clothes hooks, water dispenser buttons and any other surface that is exposed in out treatment room.

The bathroom will be sanitized after each client use. A vacuum with a HEPA filter will be used and disinfectant solution will be used on the floors. We also have new HEPA air filters in the treatment rooms.

Will you be using a HEPA filter in the treatment rooms?

Yes, we have purchased IQAir filters (Health Pro Plus) that filter the air down to 0.003microns, and will also run a window fan to keep the air circulating in the room. When the temperature allows we will work with the windows open and when hot outside we will also run the AC to try to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. Remember we can always turn the heating pad on the table on too or use a blanket.

How will my treatment be different?

We will be both wearing masks and some treatment times might be shorter on your neck and shoulders as we are trying to limit face to face exposure for both client and therapist.

You can request to skip head and neck work completely.

The quality of our therapeutic massage treatments will remain the same, but we will keep the conversation to a minimum.

What kind of PPE will my therapist be wearing?

We are following the guidelines set forth by the State of MA and the AMTA/AMBP. We will be using masks, gloves, goggles/safety glasses/face shield and uniform, and after every client we will be changing into a new set of each.

Why can I not book 90 minute treatments?

At this time we will be limiting our treatments to 60 minutes or shorter, this will allow enough time for disinfection and sanitation of the treatment table, rooms and bathroom between clients and allow us to space client appointments far apart during the day for the HEPA filters to work.

How are the linens handled?

As always new sanitized linens and towels will be used for each of our clients. The linens are washed in a sanitizing cycle with bleach and kept in an airtight container right until they are put on the treatment table by your freshly gloved therapist. After your treatment they will be stored in an airtight container and washed in a sanitizing cycle and dried on hot.

Why do I have to be called the day before and or the day of my treatment?

This allows us to get your current treatment goals and check in regarding your current health status, and will allow us to screen for potential warning signs of illness. We will be conducting the intake you normally have while in the treatment room over the phone.

Why will I receive a phone call the day after my treatment?

The reason for a follow up call is to inquire about your treatment and to check in with both our health, to see if either of us has developed any Covid19 symptoms since seeing each other.

Lets’ work together to stay healthy and safe and protect the vulnerable around us.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
